BIOGRAPHY

Ruben Gerritz is a singer-songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa. Having his heritage in blues but being open to the influence of many different genres during his musical development, he now eliminates boundaries in music and creates his own unique sound. Writing songs mostly with an indie pop vibe, he likes to give some songs a funky African touch and proves to strike a chord with the audience. 

In 2015 he formed his band the Ruben Gerritz Trio with whom he released the two singles Hambisa and Different. The following 2 and a half years the band travelled twice to Switzerland to perform their music overseas, bringing Ruben Gerritz further in the music scene but also progressed his musical knowledge. 

Planning to take his solo career further and collaborating with different artists, he started working more under Ruben Gerritz. Moving away from the Trio gave him the necessary space to develop his own brand and focus even more on his own music. The year 2019 has seen a big jump for him, having his first own European tour travelling over Germany, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland and releasing 3 new singles in one year. 

With his repertoire growing, future international endeavours in the pipeline and the release of his first EP in 2020, Ruben Gerritz shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
